On July 1, 2022, CD PROJEKT RED celebrates its 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades since the studio entered the video game development scene and began working on the first installment of The Witcher series of games.
Having been successful in distributing and localizing video games, CD PROJEKT took on their own game, which led to the creation of CD PROJEKT RED, a video game development studio, with an official announcement of this fact in July 2002.
In the twenty years since then, CD PROJEKT RED has become a name in the global industry. game series Witcher – noted welcomed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt2015 – Over 65 million copies sold and a new game in the saga was recently announced in development. Cyberpunk 2077the studio’s most recent release has also become a globally recognized franchise, spawning its own anime series. Cyberpunk: Mercenariescreated in collaboration with Studio Trigger, which will debut on Netflix in September 2022. CDPR is also currently working on a title expansion that will be released in 2023.

When we launched CD PROJEKT RED, we didn’t know the do’s and don’ts of the video game industry. We were rebels from the very beginning and had to learn everything ourselves. It gave us the freedom to develop our games in our own way, and this distinctive individual approach has shaped our DNA – what has shaped our games. These last twenty years have been exciting and satisfying for us, and we are very proud of our achievements and the fact that we can constantly count on the support of our community. In particular, this is something we all hold dear here, and it is with this positivity and optimism that we enter our twenty-first year and beyond.
The company will focus much of its anniversary celebration around its passionate community. CD PROJEKT RED has maintained close relationships with gamers since day one, and it is through their years of support that the studio has come to where it is today. The community has always been at the heart of CDPR’s work and mission, and the recently announced 20th Anniversary Celebration is the organization’s way of sharing this special occasion with its equally special community.
To that end, the studio has launched its 20th Anniversary website, where members of the community can share their memories of CD PROJEKT RED and its games through photos, screenshots, illustrations, and more. Players can upload their memories to the Anniversary Gallery and share this milestone with the studio and community members around the world.
Over the next few months, CD PROJEKT RED game streams will take place on the 20th Anniversary website, with studio members taking viewers on a journey through the company’s memory every Wednesday starting July 6th. Visitors to the site will also be able to learn trivia about the studio, participate in challenges, win prizes, and much more.
