Sega wants to adapt Atlus games into live-action movies and TV series, including Persona

This was announced by Toru Nakahara, executive producer of Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog films and Sonic Prime series, explaining that expanding into new forms of storytelling is a new and fundamental part of the Japanese company’s strategy. That’s why Sega is considering making live-action adaptations for the small and big screen using its extensive repertoire of Atlus games, which includes games from the series, among others. “The worlds of Atlus are full of drama, have a cutting-edge style and engaging characters,” said Nakahara. “Stories like those from the Persona series really resonate with our fans, and we see an opportunity to expand lore in a way that no one has seen or played before. Sega and Atlus are working to bring these stories and worlds to life. It’s meant for a new audience.”

Nakahara didn’t reveal more details on the matter, such as which partners Sega will be collaborating with to bring the Atlus games movies and live-action TV series to life, but it’s still news that will be particularly interesting for Persona and fans. Shin, Megami Tensei.
