New Pac-Man remaster will replace a character once again due to a legal dispute
Nor will we see Miss Pac-Man replacing Pac-Mom in Pac-Man World Re-Pac.
This week’s Nintendo Direct Mini has us pac man comeback in the form of rearrangement. Pac-Man World Re-Pac will come to PC and consoles this summer with refreshed graphics and various game modes, but there will still be one more notable shortcoming.
And a character from the original adventure will not be part of the game due to a legal dispute. Bandai Namco title Replaces Miss Pac-Man with Pac-MomThe new character in the franchise is something that some fans dislike but is inevitable for the company.
Miss Pac-Man was not created by Namco at the time, but rather was born out of Midway and General Computer Corporation (GCC), which licenses Pac-Man products in the United States. There is character rights issuesand indeed Namco sued AtGames in 2019 for using its image, although the company may continue to do so after reaching a settlement with GCC.
Since then, Bandai Namco has not used Miss Pac-Man in its games in the series as it has disappeared from different versions of the games and even from the stores where it sells it. Yes definitely, the soundtrack will stay although apparently Pac-Mom will be in his place now.
Pac-Man World Re-Pac is scheduled for release next year for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. 26 August While 2022 isn’t the only legendary character to appear during the Nintendo Direct Mini.
