As of this writing, there are several Marvel Comics superhero games in development. Scratch it, there is absolute trucks in development, even with the cancellation of the Marvel MMO. There are rumors that we could release another new Marvel game, as apparently EA has one as well.
Alright, take a deep breath: the Spider-Man relaunch is due out in August, with Miles Morales coming out later in 2022, and developer Insomniac is working on Spider-Man II and The Wolverine. Strategy game Midnight Suns is out in October, and a former Uncharted exec is working on a top-tier Marvel game that could be Daredevil or Fantastic Four.
Now, according to the XboxEra podcast and Nick Baker aka Shpeshal_Nick, “EA is making a Marvel game too.” Nick had no further information to share and made it clear that it was just a rumor, but he seems to know what specific Marvel IP is in question and will be releasing it through his own EA sources.
While not all of Nick Baker’s predictions or rumors have come true yet, such as the Gears of War or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection for Fortnite, others, such as the Quake remaster releasing in 2021. You can read the discussion of ‘ crew. then starting at 1:30:23.
Either way, even Baker doesn’t seem to have enough information to judge, so take it with a grain of salt.
As for other Disney-owned IP, EA has several Star Wars games in development at Respawn, including the recently announced Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and a strategy game from former XCOM developers.
