While the 12GB RTX 3080 is aiming for a thick PC case in the sky, the 10GB model seems to hold its own. Its lower-spec sibling costs a lot less, around $800, so it might last a bit longer. However, the 12GB card has more cores and a larger memory bus, so enthusiasts would probably prefer it not be removed.
The slight delay of the RTX 4000 moved the GPU lineup window from September to November, making the RTX 3000 lineup several months of relevance. Although the entire Ampere collection is discontinued, it could be back on shelves at some point, as even the RTX 2060 returned earlier this year.
