Squad Update 3.0 finally sends out Marines. The latest multiplayer patch for milsim adds an amphibious force, including both the marines themselves and their specialized vehicles capable of traversing deep water. But that’s just the beginning of Squad’s latest big update.

The Squad 3.0 update adds a new faction of marine players that grants access to seven new vehicles (and their modifications) and five new weapons. The vehicles include the AAVP-7A1 armored personnel carrier, the AAVC-7A1 command and logistics vehicle, and the LAV-25 armored reconnaissance vehicle. All of these can be tackled and used to cross large bodies of water, opening up new tactical possibilities on certain Squad maps.

Developer Offworld Industries says that some of the existing Squad vehicles can be used to cross streams and rivers, but make sure you’re up for the task: “less durable” vehicles will slow down to crawl through water and ultimately crash. they will be flooded

Update 3.0 also adds a new map called Black Coast. The action takes place on the Black Sea coast and focuses on landing and defense operations. A team starts with an aircraft carrier located inland, so new watertight vehicles will be essential to establishing a foothold.

With all these amphibious maneuvers, it’s no surprise that update 3.0 also adds a new feature: Soldier uniforms will now be covered in mud at the front, so you’ll be able to see when someone has crawled through the mud. . .

The patch notes contain all the details. Update 3.0 for Squad is now available.
