The venue for this year’s second Six Major was announced by Ubisoft on Tuesday (21). The competition will feature the top 16 international teams from Phase 2 of the Rainbow Six Siege 2022 competitive landscape. The Major, which runs from 15 to 21 August, will take place at the Potsdamer Platz Theater in Berlin, Germany. The public will be able to personally follow the event from the playoff disputes.
All editions of the Six Major are among the biggest international Rainbow Six Siege esports events taking place in May, August and November. After Sweden, in November 2021, the event will return to Europe and the teams will compete in Germany for the first time.
In the latest edition, North American team DarkZero Esports won the title in front of a crowd at the Six Major held in Charlotte, USA. In the coming weeks, teams will compete in regional leagues across Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America in search of qualification for the Six Major Berlin. The top 16 teams will have their passports stamped to travel to Germany where they will compete for the trophy, cash prizes and points in the Global Rankings that will determine the Six Invitational 2023.
Brazil has already had six Major champion teams twice, both in 2021, the golden year of the Brazilian R6. In August, Team oNe won the Six Major Mexico by defeating Team Empire in the final. The other title went to FaZe Clan at a major held in Sweden, when they defeated their Brazilian counterparts Ninjas in Pajamas by decision.
