Minecraft is a game to share with friends. Sometimes you’ll all dig to build something awesome, sometimes you’ll use mods to recreate Elden Ring, and sometimes you’ll search the internet for servers to see what the internet has in store for you. However, if you’re online and playing with strangers, things can get messy at times, and that seems to be what the latest Minecraft snapshot is trying to address.
Minecraft 22W24A snapshot is here and it’s getting ready for version 1.19.1, adding some bug fixes and two new features. The main one here is the chat report, which allows you to report players who send “offensive messages” to the in-game chat. It should be noted that the blog explains that “not all reports made during the trial period can be reviewed”, but the ability to kick toxic players is an integral part of any online game, so this could be a good one. movement.
Chat reports can be accessed from the social interactions screen and you will need to report individual chat messages and select a category for them. This is probably to prevent abuse of the system itself, as you can’t just create a general player report – you need to report what they did, and the blog says your report will be moderated. It’s not yet clear what constitutes a genuine and actionable report, but either way, it’s all worth knowing.
Other than that, another big change is that you can now duplicate the wonderful minecraft alley. You can do this by giving them an amethyst shard, but the duplication has a 2.5 minute cooldown. That should help alleviate concerns about the number of monsters in the game. Besides, the cutest things can only be good news, right?
In less official news, we are huge fans of this Mario Kart mod for Minecraft. It adds the maps we all know and love, but with some freshwater features.
