If you need more Destiny 2 red-rimmed weapons in Season of the Haunted MMO, YouTuber Skarrow9 just made the process a lot easier. Destiny 2’s red-rimmed weapons, officially called depth vision resonance weapons, were incredibly hard to find when The Witch Queen released, and they’re still pretty rare even in Season of the Haunted. This makes weapon crafting quite difficult and almost impossible if you are hoping to craft rich new weapons.
Scarrow said their achievement happened by accident as they and some friends were trying to find easier ways to get Deepsight weapons in a new weekly quest. This only works in a few specific cases, namely the Bound in Sorrow quest steps that require Bound Presence, so while you can grind the Deepsight Opulent weapon, it won’t work for other dungeons or quests.
On the other hand, you will get a lot of fancy weapons and a lot more energy from fancy shadows to focus your weapons than usual. That’s good, considering Season of the Haunting requires over two dozen Deluxe Shadow Energy to focus weapons.
For the exploit to work, Scarrow says you need to complete the Bound in Sorrow weekly seasonal quest before any of the stages where you need to collect Bound Presence. Bound Presence is normally a random drop in Nightmare Containment, but if you start the quest while one of these Bound in Sorrow stages is active, Scarrow has discovered Bound Presence, which is a guaranteed drop in level 3 chests.
Before starting Nightmare Containment, make sure your inventory of consumables is full. Some fans recommend buying Charge of Light in the Dreaming City or hunting down Xur and buying Paraversal Haul as an easy and reliable way to get enough consumables. Once your inventory is full, start the Contain Nightmares action at level 3 and spend Dread Remains to gain your chained presence.
Since your inventory is full, it goes to the mailbox. Take down the quest step from the quest menu, remove an item from your consumable inventory, and collect your linked presence from the mailbox. From there, start the Sever quest and redeem your Bound Presence upon completion. While there’s no guarantee you’ll pull out the flashy red-rimmed weapon, you can take the quest step from the quest kiosk and repeat the process endlessly until you get what you need.

- Bump in the Night Rocket Launcher
- automatic rifle for shooting
- Hollow Denial Trace Rifle
- Nazir Ax Whisper of the Glaive
- Reconnaissance rifle “Tears of remorse”
- Remorseless Shotgun
