announced third beta phase from Blood Bowl 3It will last until 12 June and two new entities: Chaos Abandoned and Old World Alliance. There will also be a new feature to appear for the first time in the series: gameplay and terrain that affects gameplay. Let’s read how it is presented by the developers:
Serious swindlers, troublemakers, real dangers, Chaos brings together the Abandoned teams, all the outcasts no sensible coach can train. Orcs, Skaven, Dark Elves and even Trolls, Ogres or Minotaurs play alongside the fiercest Humans. While diversity gives this group a physical (definitely unaesthetic) advantage, their teams are often unable to play together.
In terms of diversity, the Old World Alliance teams are in no way inferior to the Chaos Forsaken. In the bars of the great cities of the Old World, drinking mates gathered in teams. They combine the raw strength of Ogres and Tremen, the agility of Halflings, the stubbornness of Dwarves, and the ability to make the most of each of the Humans’ abilities.
The land of Chosen Chaos is a tribute to the desolation: a stone floor with no grass, giant carved skulls, and stands separated by a pit where the losers are thrown. The field becomes an open-air torture chamber if one of the players spills his blood: the pits will fill with molten lava, and players affected by the heat will have difficulty moving at best, and will have to stay on the sidelines and sunstroke at worst.
Another of the pitches offered is dedicated to one of the chaos gods: Nurgle. Already somewhat reassuring, this stinking garden awakens when a player dies in an action. As soon as this happens, carnivorous plants and large numbers of worms appear and begin to swarm, preventing the fastest players from running and catching the ball.
The last playground offered is that of the Dark Elves. Built on water and resembling the deck of a ship, this space suggests that the beings there looked more like sailors than players. With the initial touchdown and the roar of the crowd, this strange water journey turns into a nightmare when a sprawling beast awakens. The platform becomes unstable and it will be more difficult for knocked-out players to regain consciousness. Finally, moving too fast can attract the attention of the monster, which is not afraid to attack you!
