To find Bristlebacks in Horizon Forbidden West, players must first travel to The Daunt and undertake a quest there. Bristlebacks is a two-part side quest that begins as part of the To the Brink quest. Note that players must complete The Embassy and Death’s Door questlines before the Bristlebacks quest can be accepted.
After speaking with Ulvund and Javad in Chainscrape, players should move on to careers in the southwest of the city. Players will find themselves in a mine called Split Craig, where a mine can be opened. Enter the cave and navigate the caves along mine shaft paths where you will find the cave where the Acid Bristlebacks reside.
FranciRoosters recommends keeping your distance from the Bristlebacks and using your bow to defeat them.

Although classified as herd-based foraging machines, Bristlebacks are not shy; Instead of running away, they become very aggressive when threatened and use their cubes wisely.#HorizonProbiddenWest # Beyond the horizon pic.twitter.com/46XXiLlL0w

The second part of the Bristlebacks quest will take players to Deadfalls. After players defeat the rebels and their minions, a short scene will be drawn in which the Bristlebacks are shown in the cave. Defeat the Bristlebacks from there as well as the first part of the mission – keep your distance and use your bow.
The brush is also a great tool for creating chest sticks, piercing sticks, and metal bones. For players looking to breed these creatures for their realistic materials, here’s what you need to know.
Back Tusks can be used to upgrade weapons, Armor Piercing Thorns can be used to craft Armor Piercing Ammo, and Metal Bones can be used to craft many items. Specific Bristlebacks can be found in various locations on the map, see the IGN interactive map for specific coordinates.
