A new update for Arma Reforger was released today, bringing long-awaited fixes to military multiplayer that should make online play much smoother. We mean it literally: An issue players have had in the early access game is that other characters’ animations in multiplayer make it look like they’re flickering and disappearing, and today’s patch should address that particular oddity.
There are two specific changes aimed at fixing the smoothness of other player animations, but some changes in this update should make Arma Reforger more stable online in general, which should also help with animations. With this patch, the animation data you see will come from the character’s owner and not the server. A separate adjustment was made for “[improve] fluidity of characters in multiplayer”.
The patch also contains a number of additional fixes and improvements: standby AI should now have a better understanding of their surroundings, and explosive containers you find in the Conflict game mode should contain explosives instead of “normal items”.
Fixed an issue that caused cars to fall to the ground when hitting a door latch, and you will no longer be stuck sitting next to the car you died in.
Bohemia Interactive also fixed numerous crashes, including one that could occur simply by equipping a weapon.
Workbench has a new status bar that shows the current server environment, and pitch resampling is enabled by default when importing a pitch map into the world editor.
The full patch notes have all the details.
