Join us as we walk you through the five new seasons of Haunted Exotics in Destiny 2, exactly how to get them, and what their strengths and weaknesses are.
Here are the new exotics in Destiny 2 Season 17:
- intruder
- heart shadow
- Fire rain
- Second opportunity
- hand of caliban
intruder
This light kinetic slot weapon has the Repentance trait, which means that if you reload it after defeating a target, the next blast will be a powerful superpower. It also has the “Be Dangerous” trait that automatically resets after killing an enemy with a restless Superburst, so you can easily start a chain of Superbursts without needing a physical reset.
Season Pass holders can unlock this weapon right away, but will need to upgrade to Free Pass Level 35 if they don’t want to rummage through their wallet. Once you have the Alien, you can get the Banshee-44 catalyst quest in the tower. The first stage of the quest requires 50 precision kills, 50 kills, and 50 arc damage. The next step is to calibrate 200 data with playlist exclusions. After doing all of this, you can head back to Banshee-44 to get the catalyst. However, you will still need 700 kills to level up.
Completing these tasks grants Catalyst Perk, Tunnel Vision. When reloading after defeating an enemy, Tunnel Vision provides faster target acquisition and aiming speed. Players can also receive an Outlander weapon skin called One False Step.
heart shadow
This richly decorated sword is one of the possible rewards for completing Destiny 2’s new Duality dungeon. Its internal trait “Exhume” means that heavy attacks render the player invisible and fire explosive void projectiles. Additionally, Shot in the Dark allows the player to deal more damage while invisible and adds an additional effect to Void projectiles that weaken enemies.
Once you get Heartshadow, you can return to the dungeon for the catalyst. To get it, you need to solve three mini-puzzles in the dungeon. For the first step, look for the door in the bottom right corner during the first dungeon skip puzzle. If you or someone on your team has a sword, an enemy nightmare will spawn as soon as you walk through this door. Upon defeating it, an Essence will drop and picking up that Essence will trigger a 30 second timer. During this time, you must place the gasoline behind the bell that will help you to get out of the puzzle.
To get the next essence, you need to kill the boss that appears in the coffin room. You’ll need to put it on a plate in the Nightmare world in the statue room, which is quite a ways from where it spawns.
Finally, another boss will appear in the cube room while you are in Nightmare mode. This boss drops the third essence. To plant an essence, you will have 30 seconds to exit the Nightmare world, then you will have to go a little further to place it. After completing all three stages, a chest with a catalyst will appear. Check out this Dioxety tutorial for a visual guide.
Catalyst increases movement speed while invisible and increases ammo capacity. Players can also get a Heartshadow weapon skin called Soulbright.
Rain of Fire – Warlock Leggings
This armor’s perk requires the Warlock to dodge while airborne to reload all weapons, as well as increasing the effectiveness of Fusion Rifles and Linear Fusion Rifles while airborne. It also causes the final blows of this weapon to glow at the player, meaning the player will deal even more damage.
You have a chance to get this exotic armor only in a Legendary or Master level Lost Sector, though it’s not a guaranteed drop.
Second Chance – Titan Gauntlets
These gauntlets allow titans to cast their shields a second time. The second shield pierces the shield and stuns Barrier Champions. As with Rain of Fire, you can get them only from the Legend or Master Lost Sector, although they are not guaranteed to drop.
Hand of Caliban – Hunter Gauntlets
These gauntlets allow the hunter’s non-contact knife to set fire to targets it damages or set them on fire with a direct hit. Burn is a stackable damage buff, and enough burn stacks will cause Ignite, a solar blast that deals damage around the target. Additionally, these gauntlets increase melee regeneration until the knife explodes. Also, they are only available as a possible trophy when playing solo Legend or Lost Sector Master.
