You could just build your spooky estate in Farbane Woods and leave it at that, but since you’re going to be spending a lot of time collecting materials in this vampire game and there aren’t many rare resources in the area early on, you’d better pick a better spot to make sure not be too far from your base when daylight interrupts your feasting and foraging.

To help you find the best locations for your V Rising base, we’ve found three areas that we recommend moving your castle to. We also have some tips to help you get the best ground if you’re playing on a server with a lot of other players.

Dunley Farmland
This is the best place to build your base, as its central location is equidistant from the Silver Hills, where you can easily find silver, and the Cursed Forest, where you can mine iron. Danlí Farms has several useful locations that are marked on the map above.
The map marker on the left points to an isolated base on top of a hill located right in the center of the map. This location is relatively secure as any intruders will be directed through a small entrance. On the first level of the hill, resources can be mined from two stone veins, and in the immediate vicinity there are stables, fishing grounds, various farms and villages, and a gateway.
The map marker on the right is also pretty safe as it’s on top of a hill. The advantage of this location is that the top of the hill is very spacious, which means that you can eventually build a huge castle. There’s an abandoned farm to the south filled with loot and effigies, a militia camp to the west filled with chests full of loot, and a large town to the north.
Hills of silver light
If you prefer to collect cash, this location on the far west of the map is packed with precious metals. This is especially useful, as holding silver damages you over time, so being close to the source saves you the pain.
The map marker on the left is one of the most popular places for castles in the late game. With the vast Brighthaven to the south and the sacred silver mine to the east, it’s the perfect place to mine for rare resources and loot. Because it’s tucked away in a corner of Silverlight Hills and only has a few access points, it’s pretty safe too. Plus, there’s plenty of room to build, so you won’t be limited to a hilltop cabin.
The map marker to the right is also safe and spacious, but not as well connected to the best mining sites in Silverlight Hill. Instead, you can mine lots of ores to the east and south, or jump off a cliff to the west to explore the area around the Sacred Silver Mine.
cursed forest
Located in the extreme north-east of the map, this area gives you easy access to iron and is fairly well isolated, perfect if you want to get away from other players and build a fortress in peace.
We only recommend a location in the Cursed Forest, and it’s located way to the northeast of the map. To the west you’ll find a spider cave which is a great place to grow silk, and to the south is an old town full of loot. There’s even a cave passage nearby that will drop you north of Dunley Farm, should you need to escape the gloom and darkness of the Doomed Forest.
How to choose the best location for an ascending V base
In addition to choosing one of the areas above, here are some other things to consider when choosing the exact location of your base:
- You probably won’t be claiming the absolute best slot in each zone when you join an active server, as many other players have already taken those spots, don’t worry too much about the decision.
- Since other players can destroy your castle on PvP servers, a good way to keep your base relatively safe is to build it in an area where high level enemies spawn. Stone Golems and Ents are V Rising Dobermans.
- Pay attention to the build area when placing the V Rising Castle Core, as it tells you roughly how much room you need to work with when expanding your castle.
- If you can, try building next to one of the teleporters, as you can use them to easily reach distant places.
- Beware of locks in prestigious places that are in poor condition. If you can get inside and destroy the heart of the castle, you can build your new home on the ruins of your rival’s fortress.
