Castle building in V Rising is one of the most important aspects of this vampire survival game. Once you’ve chosen your V Rising server and begun your journey from frail undead to vampire lord, you’ll find yourself in the beautiful woods of Farbane tasked with starting to build your first home. So while it’s relatively obvious that you’ll need to cut down trees and mine stone, you’ll also need to collect V Rising Blood Essence to operate your Bloodsucker’s abode.
However, the construction Castle Rising V that’s just the easy part. You must constantly maintain the heart of your castle so that your borders and walls do not collapse. A little drop of red stuff goes a long way, but if you don’t take care of the heart of your castle, your home, and all of your hard-earned loot, they’ll become vulnerable to invaders.

How to build a V castle
You come across a castle building quest, The Lord of Shadows, around level 10. To build a V Rising castle, you will need to build the heart of the castle, the base boundaries, and erect walls to give you the privacy you need. .
- Press the B key to enter build mode.
- In the Basics tab at the bottom, select the heart of the castle.
- Build a Castle Heart for 30 Blood Essence and 240 Stone and place it in a location with a high build rate.
- Place a base around the heart of the castle, spending two blood essence and 20 gems each.
- Surround your castle with palisades and walls to keep enemies away. Each wooden wall costs 80 wood and 30 plant fibers. The cost of resources can vary depending on whether you’re building a gate or a pillar, but crafting will always require wood.
Also make sure to build a coffin to rest in while you’re out of the game, as shutting down will tie your vampire to the spot, leaving you vulnerable to attack and daylight. The ability to build coffins can be found in the Basics tab of the build screen, and they cost 180 wood to craft. You should also create some small caches of 150 wood each to store materials and loot.
Lastly, if you’re new to RPGs and scared of getting burned in broad daylight, building a 120-stone smoke brazier will protect you from the sun. Each brazier will cover a large area with mist, but you have to feed it with bones. While the heart of the castle uses blood essence slowly, the mist braziers are much hungrier and eat bones every minute, so don’t leave them burning unnecessarily. If you’re wondering how to build a roof for your castle, you’ll have to build everything out of stone, which happens much later in the game.
How to prevent V Rising Castle from collapsing
You need to keep fueling the core essence of your castle to keep your items in good working order. To do this, open the castle heart menu by pressing the F key while looking at it. In this menu, you will see a section called “Castle Power” with two cells next to it. Drag Blood Essence into these slots to strengthen and fortify your castle. The more blood essence you carry in the heart of your castle, the longer your home will be protected.
