Building Minecraft can be pretty much anything you want. While this is a human wake-up call, it’s actually a very good thing considering Minecraft is one of the biggest sandbox games ever made. Whether starting a Dungeons & Dragons game or recreating a beloved Destiny 2 raid, Minecraft inspires people to do what they want.
That’s probably why this fan decided to make a full Dark Souls map in Minecraft. However, they do not build a replica; DanTay19 actually uses the series as inspiration for his own creation. You can take a look at the final area thanks to a post they posted on Reddit, or you can watch the full trailer on their YouTube channel.
Judging by the video description, they have been working on the board for more than five years and everything was built by them. The video shows much more than a Reddit post. There are boss fights, a wide variety of biomes, and some really fun enemy locations, like a ghost serving as a kind of tower in the castle area, and raging magma slimes in the blood-red area.
The video description also mentions that it will have mechanics familiar to Souls players, which likely means mods will be released to bring the combat closer to FromSoftware’s games. We’re not sure how much overlap there will be with the Elden Ring-inspired version of Minecraft, but we’re pretty excited about the prospect nonetheless. However, there is no release date yet, so we will all have to work hard and be patient.
In more official Minecraft news: We’re getting closer to the release of Minecraft 1.19, which means you can play around with the pre-release if you want to see just how fearsome the Guardian gets.
