Entering an alien world for the first time must be daunting, and The Cycle: Frontier seems to target that feeling. The release date for The Cycle: Frontier, a free-to-play PvPvE shooter inspired by Escape from Tarkov, has been announced on June 8.

Your objective in The Cycle is quite simple: you land on an abandoned planet, gather all the resources and gifts you can get, and then travel on the planet’s next evacuation ship. Easy, right? Naturally, there are some problems: First, the surface of Fortune III is not completely sterile. It is inhabited by predatory wild animals, and everyone wants to know how people taste.

The Cycle also draws inspiration from Hunt: Showdown, where revealing your location with a shot can be a deadly decision in itself. If the fight gets too heated, you’ll alert other Seekers to your location, and they might show up to claim what you’ve looted.

Meanwhile, a deadly storm surrounds your location: you only have a limited space to work with, but you can choose how much risk you want to take. Heading to more dangerous areas will give you better rewards, but you can also lose everything you have.

The Cycle: Frontier is developed by Yager, the studio behind the award-winning shooter Spec Ops: The Line. The Cycle will be available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Don’t forget to bring your raincoat.
