Twitch’s infringement policy is about to undergo a significant change with clips added to the Streamer Ban Report. Angela Hession, vice president of security at Twitch, said this in an interview with the Washington Post.

An email that informs the content creator of the punishment has always been the subject of complaints from Twitch users, as it only mentions what violation was committed, without telling when or at what time of the live stream it happened. However, Hession noted that this is about to change.

“Safety is a journey and that is what our community demands the most. So we are thinking about how to add more details so that people can understand them, like the video itself. It’s something we’re definitely working on,” Hession said.

In addition to commenting on bans, the VP also spoke a little about the Twitch shutdown policy, which was updated in April 2021. The changes have made social media streamers more secure, especially on Twitter, as many of the attacks appear on the social network and sometimes reach Twitch chat, she said.

“I really don’t know what’s going to happen on Twitter. There are a lot of things that need to be addressed,” Hession said. “I will say that safety is a priority. [para nós]. If you look at our downtime policy, you can see that a lot of it is about keeping our community here on Twitch free of physical aggression. I would say that our retirement policy is more than just a platform. There are multiple platforms, and we intend to constantly make sure that our community feels safe.”
