Stock Car Pro Series promoter, Vicar announced this Wednesday, May 25, the 2022 E-Stock Virtual Championship season. The competition will take place on the world’s largest simulation platform iRacing and will be held in partnership with IRB Esports, a specialist in organizing virtual championships.

Overall, the 2022 E-Stock Championship will consist of three categories with a total of 36 stages, live streaming and a calendar of 72 races. The event will feature 120 drivers, including true motorsport professionals and the esports universe, all together in a grand championship. The official schedule starts in June and the final is scheduled for November.

“The world of virtual motorsport is an important aspect of real sport as it brings together a huge new generation of racing enthusiasts. This championship is a project that connects two universes, which in this way complement and expand each other,” says Fernando Giulianelli, CEO of Vicar, promoter of Stock Car Pro. “Our partners are the best possible: iRacing, the largest platform in the world, and IRB Esports, a manager specializing in virtual championships.

With this initiative, we want to give real and virtual lovers more opportunities to enjoy and experience what Stock Car has to offer: emotions and adrenaline in a healthy competitive environment. Sponsors and riders will also get more information and interaction with the fans, which will create new opportunities for everyone,” concludes Giulianelli.

Amateur and professional pilots – The three categories of E-Stock 2022 will be divided into groups related to participants’ experiences in a virtual or real environment, as follows:
– E-Stock Pro Series: Designed for true professional racing drivers;
– E-Stock Virtual Pro: designed for professional virtual motorsport drivers;
– E-Stock Virtual Am: Designed for virtual motorsport enthusiasts.

The E-Stock Pro series is open to professional racers participating in national or international motor racing, with regular participation or invitation from the E-Stock organization. There will be three selection criteria in the Virtual Pro and Virtual Am categories: iRating history (a method for assessing pilots on the platform), current iRating and, if applicable, a retrospective of IRB Esports championships.

Each of the categories will have a grid with a capacity of 40 vehicles, with a total of 120 registered drivers. However, in order to be eligible, the participant will have to take part in the selection, which will take place from May 27 to June 6, when the registration period ends.

On real tracks, the same cars as in the Stock Car Pro Series will be used: Toyota Corolla and Chevrolet Cruze, equipped with a 550 hp V8 engine. Similarly, VR models in iRacing will feature the famous overtaking button, which increases engine power for a period of time that varies by track. Each participant will be able to activate the push up to six times per race. Once activated, the pilot will have to wait two minutes for the device to turn back on.

Format inspired by professional competitions “In order to bring the virtual environment even closer to the real one, the E-Stock 2022 stages in the three categories will have a format very similar to the Stock Car Pro series. Each championship will consist of 12 stages, with two races each, for a total of 24 stages in each category, or 72 in total.

Each stage of the championship will consist of a 15-minute qualifying session that will determine the grid for Race 1. The two stages of each stage will be 30 minutes each. As with real stocks, the Race 2 bracket will be based on Race 1 results, but with the top ten in reverse order.
