An update may come to the next generation of Resident Evil 3 very soon after the update begins for users.
A Twitter user (@BSAAEurope) shared how they were allowed to upgrade to Resident Evil 3 on the PS5 version when the disc was inserted into the system, but the download didn’t actually start. Although the update is currently unavailable, these claims could indicate that it will be available very soon.

Capcom previously confirmed that next-gen updates will be released for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 this year, although exact dates have not been set. The updates will deliver improved visuals and performance for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The storage of each game data is also transferred to the corresponding updated versions.
Players who already own all three games will be eligible for a free update, which may sooner or later appear thanks to these recent customer complaints. According to @BSAAEurope, the upgrade option does not yet appear for Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil 7 when installing a physical disc.
While Capcom has been quiet at the time of writing about whether or not updates are coming, we’ll see more information soon.
