Wildfrost is said to be a game that will make Slay the Spire fans feel right at home, thanks to the efforts of developers Deadpan Games and Gaziter, as well as publisher Chucklefish.
In Wildfrost, players must use their card strategies and deck building skills to get the perfect run.
Wildfrost, itself an eternal winter, froze the sun and the universe, leaving only a small civilization of snowdrops and the survivors to come to the Temple of the Sun and save the day.
With an emphasis on endless repetition, players choose a tribal leader with random skills and stats and embark on an adventure through the frigid air.
From there, players begin to build their ideal decks by rescuing and retrieving their frozen card friends and luring them in to increase their strength along the way.
In battle, players can master the dynamic counter system and try various base combinations to plan next steps.
After each run, players can return to Snowdwell to rebuild and expand the town, build a Pet Shop, Inventor Hunt, and other new maps to unlock challenges and events.
Wildfrost will be released in English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. For additional language support, Chucklefish added that it will be closely monitoring wishlist data and player feedback to gauge which offers are the most desirable from the community.
“We are also thrilled to announce our initial plans for localizing Wildfrost,” Chucklefish Marketing and Publishing Director Katie Ellis said in a press release. “It’s always great to see people from all over the world playing our games and we hope to expand the list of languages even further.
