Almost a year after distribution, the final stage of the Burning Crusade Classic has finally been released, hinting that new features are coming soon for the Wrath of the Lich King Classic. But while we expect a fairly mixed success at the end of the extension, the opposite seems to be happening in certain areas of the game dedicated to nostalgia.
Firemaw broke the record
We can expect a fairly mixed turnout at the end of Burning Crusade Classic, but the arrival of Stage 5 seems to have refreshed the troops considerably. This is definitely the end of the first expansion, and therefore means that the content for the Wrath of the Lich King Classic expansion could be released and then shipped very soon. If the content layout method is the same as BC Classic, we’ll talk about it here in a few weeks max!
- We previously mentioned that the possibility of announcing this expansion could present itself during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase.
The second expansion of World of Warcraft is one of the most inventive and is appreciated by the whole community for many reasons (sometimes justified, sometimes “delu” as they say). In this sense, expectations seem to have reinforced players: Firemaw (EN), one of the most populated European servers in history, is by far the most visited area in the world (on the Burning Crusade Classic) and far !
More than 33,000 registered active players and a rate of 56%Alliance and for 44% herdUndoubtedly, it is the kingdom most recognized by European society at the end of the expansion. This week, May 15, 2022, a record was also set for the connection to the server with more than 10,000 players, i.e. nearly 4 hours of standby time! It’s as incredible as it is scary!
Even crazier: this kingdom is certainly not the only one to have such enthusiasm. In Europe, four have passed the 10,000 active player limit, while in North America, 6 others appear to have the majority of Burning Crusade Classic players to date:
Naturally, data from French-speaking realms is much less noticeable, and that’s perfectly normal, as it’s difficult to compare “international” servers where English is most often spoken with servers such as French-speaking or Spanish-speaking servers. However, it is not as weak as it seems at first glance, as the three main servers have quite a large community:
The arrival of the final phase of content, including the Isle of Kvel’danas and the Plateau of Sanuel, has undoubtedly attracted many players. But this “new” content and the growing urgency of the next expansion is probably the reason for this sudden surge of interest: many players are already preparing for the next saga in Northern Azerot!
However, no specific announcement has yet been made by Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Current turnout is therefore likely to be very low compared to the data we will no doubt see in the coming weeks. One thing is certain: now is the time to return to the Burning Crusade Classic to prepare your character for new adventures in Northrend this year!
If you have the idea to switch to a classic, we advise you to avoid high traffic servers but also weaker servers. Kingdoms with large populations are undoubtedly the main candidates that we will present to you, especially Oberdeen on the French side. Amnenar is also a very good alternative, although attendance remains a good balance between gigantic sulfuron and desert finke.
If Shakespeare’s language is not a problem for you, then opt for English-speaking areas: the number of actors there will always be much higher than that of French-speaking ones, even on sparsely populated servers. Mograine or Earthshaker would probably be what we recommend, as you should note that currently the top servers will be removed as soon as the WotLK release date is announced!
