Niantic Labs has joined the growing list of companies blacklisted by Russia and its regions.
In a tweet posted on Thursday, March 10 from the Niantic Labs Twitter account, the company announced that it was with other similar organizations and was suspending all activities in Russia and Belarus. This includes Pokemon GO, Ingress, and other Niantic-owned properties. Once launched immediately, their apps will no longer be available in their respective stores and all games will be discontinued.
We stand with the global community in the hope of finding a quick solution to the violence and suffering in Ukraine. Niantic games are no longer available for download in Russia and Belarus and will soon be discontinued here.

“We stand with the global community and hope that the violence and suffering in Ukraine will be quickly resolved,” he said on Twitter. . ”
As mentioned above, Niantic, let alone a company, is not the first to support Russia’s illegal international invasion of Ukraine by suspending all services. Other names include Electronic Arts (EA), Nintendo, Rockstar Games and Ubisoft, which are taking action to stop sales, programming and/or employee harassment.
However, as with other statements, some users disagree with this decision, seeing it as an unfair punishment for Russian citizens who have nothing to do with their government’s actions. Others called it sluggish performance and inefficiency.
Still, few praised Niantic for its actions that fixed its position.
If this trend continues, Niantic won’t be the last to add its name to the list.
