There’s a new couples game that fans have been looking forward to after watching the official Pokemon Day show “Pokemon Presents”.
Finally, after the controversial release of Pokemon Sword and Shield, there’s another generation and another territory for fans to explore with the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Not much is known about the region, its surroundings, its story, or the beginnings of the Pokémon, but we were able to learn a few things from the short trailer.
Here’s everything we know about the new Pokemon games coming out later this year.
Pokémon fans, welcome to your new adventure!
Although we don’t know the exact name or anything on its map, one thing we can be absolutely sure of: it’s probably located in Spain.
Fans base their assumptions on its general atmosphere and mild climate, as well as some snapshots of local architecture, wind farms and orange trees. There are clear references to Spain, Portugal and Barcelona in several buildings and even the diagram on the stage wall of Game Freak’s office. If that wasn’t enough to convince them, the names of the startups did the trick.
Three new starter Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.
Roughly translated into Spanish as “Sprig Knut”, the Sprigatito is “a temperamental grass cat that attracts attention”. Fuecoco – again basically, “the hot crocodile” – was described as “rested up” and preferred to “do everything at his own pace”. Finally, Quaxly, who for some reason avoids the copyrights of some well-known companies, is known as the “friendly and disciplined duckling”.
Next-gen and regional release dates have yet to be confirmed. The Pokemon Company’s last word on this was “late 2022,” which could mean fans can get a one-way ticket to the Iberian Peninsula for the holiday season.
