Activision Blames COD: Vanguard’s Lacking For Sales In WWII Settings

Call of Duty: Vanguard may be the best-selling game of 2021, but Activision considers the release a sales disappointment, and in its annual investor report the company attributed the disappointment to game settings.

The company said in a statement: “The II. “The WWII environment didn’t resonate in some of our communities, and we didn’t innovate as much as we’d like in the premium game.” It’s unclear what the innovation reference means, but Activision says it plans to address both issues in the franchise’s next iteration.
