Zion is one of the coolest champions in League of Legends. The new ways the community learns from streaming rarely work, so no one wants to join his team or meet him. The truth is that he is not a very effective champion, but The ban rate is increasing day by day and he is slowly becoming one of the most hated champions.. What not everyone knows is that the new version that came out as a result of the update is not as scary as the old one.
Sunkilled League of Legends Champion
The first version of Sion is still remembered as one of Riot Games’ least attractive champions. His abilities were simple at best, combining the great power of his basic attack with the extremely high scaling power of his abilities. It’s a very strange combination followed by a character that doesn’t really work in the game and isn’t always a toy. However, when he was playing well or having a decent game, it was terrible to stand up to him.
For the record, let’s look at the abilities of the old Sion…
- Passive – Don’t feel the pain : Sion has a 40% chance to take 30/40/50 (levels) reduced damage from major attacks.
- A – Encrypted Gas : Sion’s gaze scares target enemies, dealing 70-300 (+90% AP) magic damage and surprising them for 1.5 seconds.
- W – death coloring : Zion protects himself for 10 seconds with a shield 100/150/200/250/300 (+90% AP). Caress of Death can be activated after 4 seconds (unless shield is broken), dealing 100/150/200/250/300 (+90% AP) magic damage to nearby enemies (auto explodes after full duration).
- E – anger : Sion takes a bonus attack (25-65), but his main attacks cost him life points. While Enrager is active, Zion constantly gains bonus health points (1/1.5/2/2.5/3) each time he kills a unit (doubled by major divisions and enemy champions) .
- R – Cannibalism : Within 20 seconds, Zion gains 50/75/100% lifesteal, 50% attack speed, and heals his main attacks by 25/37.5%/50% to nearby allies.
Old Zion’s kit was very inspiring. There was talk of hitting opponents with massive attacks. However, there was no way to access it other than by peeking, which didn’t suit their abilities. Are we really going to ignore instead of “fear” that it will frighten the enemy and have a surprising effect? In short, the champion was running after hitting the opponent with the shield. Add all those passive random mechanics that never appear in competitive play.
The downside was that when they played really well, the champion was unstoppable. He collected a lot of hit points and was undefeated in any of the situations. In the first level of the game he could get almost 100 offensive losses, on top of that he was using his stun on target click (like an old trick) and it was impossible to dodge. However, beyond all the positive disappointments, even players who got to try League of Legends Classic didn’t consider it one of the best in their first season.
