Galeforce dominates the meta, and for good reason. The extra mobility and damage it provides when used makes it a great choice for just about any shooter – it’s so big it’s hard to choose anything else. Riot Games took this into account, and Galeforce is one of the target nerfs for the latest League of Legends patch.

Galeforce Neurop targets active cooling rate. Galeforce users going from 90 to 110 seconds will now have more cooldown to access the mobility and bonus damage they provide.
The 12.7 patch notes say the devs are hoping to “shake up the meta a bit to allow for more diverse selection in 12.7 and 12.8”. Galeforce’s nerve was pretty sure of that spirit. Galeforce was such an important element in shooter builds that it was hard to mount anything other than the Kraken Slayer or the Immortal Shieldbow. When Galeforce isn’t as powerful, hopefully this will encourage players to try other builds instead of always going straight to Galeforce.
If you want to know more about other things that make me nervous about this patch, check out the patch 12.7 notes here.
Jinks and Aphelios are specifically mentioned in the patch notes, but they aren’t the only champions affected by this nerf. Gin and Akshan are examples of other champions hit hard by a less powerful Galeforce.
