Players are confused as to what it means to be notified that League of Legends’ discount shield has expired.
When a player is promoted to a new level or chapter, they gain a special effect called Reduction Shield. The reduction shield prevents players from losing a rank or division if they lose more games. The purpose of this immunity is to prevent players from being demoted because of a few unfortunate games.
So what exactly does it mean when it says the fall shield is exhausted?

When it says the reduction shield has expired, there is nothing to worry about. This simply means that the reduction shield has expired and players can now drop it.
Essentially, as soon as this shield expires, fans will be relegated to the lower tier if they lose the game by 0 league points. After relegation, players’ LP will be adjusted from 25 to 75 based on the number of losses suffered. The more losses they suffer, the more their number of LP decreases.
Note that the reduction shield usually lasts around three games after level progression and 10 games after level progression. The only exception is the Master Tier, where it’s all just three games.
