Third mini return confirmed for the displaced champion

Just a few days ago, we announced that Talia and Olaf would be getting what Riot Games calls “mid-tier upgrades,” meaning mini-processing of various skills. The studio doesn’t want to stand still, and Riot August recently announced on Twitter that the additional champion was to undergo the same change.

This champion is none other than Major General Swayne of Knox. He is a character who has undergone major changes throughout his story, but will return with more gameplay changes. We’re talking about a champion who started as a top-liner, played in the midline and got even better as a supporter.

Swain goes for a mini upgrade

“We are also working with Olaf and Talia to update Swain’s mid-range. The designer who worked on it is @TheTruexy. We will have more to say in the future. Augusto writes this on Twitter. Truexy is responsible for patch 12.7 because the usual patch guard has been on vacation for a few weeks.

Currently, Swain has a 47.51% win rate and is picked in 0.97% of games, an abysmal number for a champion who recently received hotfixes. Between that and the fact that he’s playing almost exclusively in support right now, Riot Games will attempt to make the champion more engaging for players and will likely open the door for it to be reused in the single player space.

We will have to wait a few weeks to see what Truexy has prepared for this character and what opportunities are developed to deliver this update, which we hope will make the champion shine again.
