Aurelion Sol
The combination of Aurelion Sol and Mage Spatula was popular before the official release of Set 7. As Aurelion Sol is also an astral unit, you can easily name a three-star dew and decide if you want to put 6 astrals instead of 5 or 7 mags, or close the astrals at the end.
Ao Shin
There’s another dragon here that does massive damage with its spells, why not double that? Using 4 Storm and 5 Magic with this legendary dragon is fairly easy, allowing him to reach his devastating roster faster, making this cast twice as powerful. On top of that, Mage Ao Shin lets you bring an Ornn Mage to the deck, giving him an extremely strong front for a comp that desperately needs it.
varus
Varus is the only non-dragon and also the only non-legendary champion on this list. However, Varus has the same advantages as Aurelion Sol because he is an Astral; Nami is an easy three star. Additionally, giving Varus a furious sword on the mage’s spatula allows him to use his stun faster, which can ultimately neutralize a troublesome backslash.
