LoL: Reactions from the Asian community after the G2 victory

As is often the case with European teams during victories over the Korean and Chinese giants, the community of the Old Continent is on fire and begins to dream of a final victory. Especially after simple victories in BO1, it is clearly too early to draw conclusions and the final matches will be in BO5, which is a completely different format. If winning with T1 and RNG is good for samurai fan egos, then bombarding tournament favorites is probably overkill. Still, such reactions come as no surprise to fans, but a significant part of the Asian community is also excited about the G2 victory. For a very understandable reason.

A strong Europe for a better league of legends

It is neither a lie nor an exaggeration of ambition to say that some Asian fans are happy with European victories. Of course, there are RNG fans who were thrilled to see the Korean champ get fired, and vice versa. However, the main reason given has nothing to do with the failure of the opposing team. Many who admired Samurai’s victory hoped that these victories would be nothing special and mark his return to Europe as a reliable contender for the sacred beasts of the LCK and LPL.. Having a third region at the same level that currently dominates League of Legends is great news for fans. While this allows them to tell a better story, it also raises concerns about the meetings that are often so lacking. With a return to the top in Europe, these fans are also hoping that one day North America will step up its game and eventually see international events where all regions are reliable contenders for an eventual win. Surprisingly, another region was mentioned besides Europe and North America.

The Wildcard region that has received the most attention is Brazil. This is of course due to the level of play of the Reds, whose representatives did not go far in the qualifiers for this stage, but also to the enthusiasm of the Brazilian midfielder. In very open and very active social networks, Brazilian fans live to compete in League of Legends as intensely as the FIFA World Cup. The European community certainly has a good reputation, but the reputation of Brazilians on the international scene surpasses it, and it is not undeserved. Therefore, fans from other regions will be happy to see a Brazilian team capable of competing with the best teams in the world, if they only see the atmosphere in which BO5 T1, RNG or G2 will be played.

Professional reaction

League of Legends

As always, Faker was very sober. The three-time world champion said he really beat Caps in that match and wanted revenge in the rematch. Keria got wet and said T1 would finish this stage 9-1. If the support accepts that G2’s victory is deserved, they declare themselves confident in the outcome of the return match, predicting that G2 will not be able to win the BO5 against them. Öner goes further and thinks the final will be between T1 and G2, but Jungler thinks RNG also has a chance. He said the team lost because some players were too arrogant towards the Europeans.

RNG players didn’t speak, but Uzim responded on his broadcast. He says Caps turns into a super saian when he has to face one of the best midfielders in the world, but on top of that Dan will make a lot more mistakes with an opponent he finds less dangerous.
