Riot Games has announced all of the changes that will be a patch for the next League of Legends, as well as some exciting and important changes for long-forgotten champions like Olaf and Talia. Not only have champions changed, but we’re also seeing a significant change to one of the most frequently used items by top players, the Hullbreaker..
The mid-season element to help split the posters led to a major change in top lane and became a priority for the strongest characters in the current Meta. So, in addition to the changes to the various champions, the studio made a pretty big change at this point so it wouldn’t be a big deal for most powerful champions out there.
A blow to division?
Although the stats haven’t changed much, The main annoyance with Hullbreaker is that runes and skills that help you take down towers can no longer benefit from bonus item damage.. The most obvious example is Sion, who can literally melt the tower with this item thanks to his lethality and destruction items (even if the champion gets a nerf to his pass in the next patch to counter the “Smash Zion” strategy “). From now on, this reinforcement will no longer exist and the division will be much more difficult.
This nerf therefore indirectly affects very strong champions in the current meta who are hampered by split posters like Trindammer, Fiora or Darius. We’ll have to see how this affects the top lane, but it looks like we’re going to see a lot more team-focused tanks in this lane.
