What’s in store for the Summer Update? The New York-based developer hosts a major update that brings new content to GTA Online twice a year. Last year, Los Santos update in GTA Online was done in summer, while in winter, fans will see Dr. Dre DLC and were thrilled. The content does not disappear after six months, but remains and can therefore captivate even new players. For its next summer update, Rockstar is rumored to have some big plans that older folks might love. Because you can activate an airplane extension.
An active source claims to have learned from reliable sources that the New York-based developer is planning big things for the upcoming update. To be precise, GTA Online fans will soon be able to explore new locations. If a particular location isn’t named correctly, the emoji source said it will likely go to Liberty City. In his tweet, he writes:
[Nach] The latest info I got from sources is that there is a HUGE summer update for GTA Online and we will see some great tie-ins between them… map expansion!
He then posted a sunglasses emoji and a Statue of Courage emoji. Many fans interpret these emojis as a story about Liberty City in New York.

Who says? The person who made this claim is Bonfire Matheusvictorbr and has been on Twitter since July 2020. Describing himself as a good-natured person from Rockstar Games, the player has previously shared information about games from the New York-based developer. Even if these are true, they are not sustainable. As for the summer update, fans will likely have to wait for Rockstar to officially confirm the extended plan.

When is the next big GTA Online update? The exact time is not yet known. Without blocking, major updates usually appear about every six months. Rockstar Games traditionally connects its major updates to GTA Online in July and December each year. Therefore, it is very possible that the next summer update will reappear in July.
