How is GTA 6 going? That’s the question Rockstar Games fans have been asking for years. Now a clue has surfaced: on an old GTA cover.

In fact, the gas mask image is part of the fun of the office heist, even quite prominently in the background of the image: Blaine County Thrift Flock.
On the cover of the PS4, the desktop logo reads “BLA” for Blaine and “SAV” for Saving. But on the new cover of GTA 5 for PS5, the background cutout is slightly enlarged. A fan noted that you can only browse “BLAIN” and “AVIN” there. Does the NYC developer want to give a hint about GTA 6? Finally, the Roman numeral 6 now appears suddenly, while no other background has changed on the cover.
It’s a bit weird in that sense because I don’t see any reason for them to change the background of this artwork a bit.

Well-known GTA insider Yan2295 finds this strange change on Twitter: “It’s kind of weird because why they… [Rockstar Games, Anm. d. Red.] the background of this particular image should have changed slightly. On the forum, some fans are now speculating that the New York developer may have hidden more GTA 6 references in the PS5 render of GTA 5.
Who knows why Rockstar Games fixed this small part of the cover. According to a source, fans shouldn’t wait too long, as it’s not reassuring that news of GTA 6 isn’t coming until the end of 2022.
