Here’s how and where to find Shadow Bombs in Fortnite and complete the corresponding challenge.
The Fortnite team announced Shadow of Phantasm week on Tuesday. Unsurprisingly, the promotion is celebrating the new skin, Phantasm, which released two weeks ago. The creators of Fortnite call it “Samurai in life and Ghost in the afterlife”. It’s unclear if Kahn was inspired by the 1979 horror film directed by Don Coscarelli, but it seems unlikely.
In celebration of Shadow of Phantasm Week, the Suppressed Assault Rifle, Suppressed SMG, Ghost Bomb, and Shield Balloon have been retired! There are also themed missions that offer XP and themed rewards.
Ghost Grenades are Fortnite’s version of Smoke Grenades. They render the player transparent, allowing players to disappear in a cloud of virtual smoke. They can be found on the ground, in chests, or in supply drops. To see the Shadow Bomb quest requirements, go to: guest page under the Shadow of Phantasm week header.
The goal of the Shadow Bomb mission is to be covered in smoke for 10 seconds. It can be obtained in different ways. As popular creator @Kanga demonstrates in his video above, a simple strategy is to shoot a Shadow Bomb at a hill. Once the bomb effects are activated, the player can keep the transparent effect by jumping on the hill, then throwing it in the air and continuing to jump on the hill.
