Fortnite’s latest Rainbow Royale celebration saw colorful, free items added to the Item Shop. For a limited time, players can receive various loading screens, a soundtrack, and a weird new “The Dip” emote.

The Bottom allows players to hit the ground hard almost instantly and then get back up just as quickly. While on the surface this emote is another fun thing you can do with your characters, it actually comes in really handy during matches.

As creator Glitch King demonstrates in the clip below, the Dip can be used to hide behind structures during combat, often making players harder to hit. Players can also fall into the open area when encountering shots, causing the opposing player to miss more shots.

It’s a sneaky performance, even Glitch King himself called it “free profit”. But since Emote is free at the moment, anyone can get it and use it in the game.

Expect your Fortnite matches to be a bit more frustrating with this in-game emote. That is, unless Epic Games decides to make changes.
