FaZe Clan removes Fortnite Pro hub after using racial slurs during broadcast

FaZe Clan has taken down Fortnite pro Evan ‘Centred’ Baron after he made a racial slur during a live broadcast.

The 19-year-old Fortnite player took to Twitter yesterday to say he’s “mutually separating” from FaZe Clan. The decision was made after clip revealed Don’t use Cented to make racial slurs while live-streaming another player.

In the clip, Centede is heard joining another actor’s audio stream and being greeted with racial slurs before being told the show is live.

“FaZe is constantly evolving and we expect our members to do the same,” FaZe Clan said in a brief statement.

“Cented has been permanently removed from FaZe for using hate speech. We, and the gaming community at large, will no longer tolerate discriminatory language.”

Sented issued his own apology as a Twitlonger, saying he “should know better”.

“I cannot hide my age or my incomprehension to leave such a word in my vocabulary. It shouldn’t be part of my vocabulary. As an adult, I should have known better. I had all the information in front of me. that they know best and yet choose to do wrong. I’m sorry about that.”

Cented joined FaZe Clan in March 2021, after playing for Team Liquid. It’s unclear what the player’s next move will be, but they’ll have some serious work to do to regain their trust in the public eye.
