FIFA 23 Ones To Watch predictions are in full swing ahead of the FIFA Ultimate Team reveal on August 11.
What to watch is traditionally the first promotion of each FUT cycle. The event celebrates players who have moved their clubs over the summer with special live items that can provide buffs for the entire play cycle. These items will be updated when that player receives an item from performance-based update (Team of the Week, Man of the Match). Additionally, EA Sports has included a special upgrade mechanic for players if their team wins a certain number of National Championship games in a row.
This summer’s transfer window has been busy and there’s still time to close for big moves around the world. Either way, fans should have a good idea of who gets the One to Watch item at the start of FUT 23.

Here are our picks that players should expect in FIFA 23 Ones:
Erling Haaland – ST / Manchester City
Haaland’s transfer to Premier League champions Manchester City was the most popular transfer of the window. He was already off the pitch, scoring twice on his first game in City’s opener against West Ham United. Haaland should be a highlight of What To Watch.
Robert Lewandowski – ST/FC Barcelona
The Bundesliga lost not only Haaland, but also superstar Robert Lewandowski, who moved from Bayern Munich to Barcelona. Lewandowski is expected to get one, but fans may have concerns over his involvement. EA Sports has always been stingy with getting TOTW cards for top-rated products. Lewandowski says less than Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, but that could change if he receives the livestream earlier in the year.
Gabriel Jesus – ST / Arsenal
Arsenal needed a striker to replace the late Alexandre Lacazette. The north London club have targeted Premier League champion Gabriel Jesus and brought him up front along with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. FUT Versus Jesus Cards were very popular in FIFA 22, and the possibility of a higher-scoring Jesus Card at some point is intrigued by the player base if they play for the Gunners.
Lisandro Martinez – CB / Manchester United
Manchester United have a new defender, Lisandro Martinez, who is following the same path as new AFC Ajax manager Erik ten Hag. Martinez is to be one of the few Premier League defenders to receive the Ones To Watch card. In this case, he will be the second United defender to sign, after Raphaël Varane.
Ryan Grevenberg – CM / Bayern Munich
Ryan Gravenburch also left Ajax this summer for Bundesliga giants Bayern. Gravenberch is one of the brightest candidates in midfield along with Eduardo Camavinga and other players who can only be listed below. In fact, Bayern aren’t the only ones to receive the No Watchers card.
Sadio Mané – ST / Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich added some serious firepower by signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool. Mane was a left winger in previous FIFA Championships but so far coach Julian Nagelsmann has used him as a solo striker or with Serge Gnabry. Mane fills the void left by Lewandowski and has always been FUT’s most popular player. If he gets the striker card this year, he will be the best option in the Bundesliga with his electric speed, dribbling and shooting.
Aurelien Tchouameni – CM / Real Madrid
Do you remember the second midfield possibility mentioned above? He is now at Real Madrid. Chuamen made his debut for AS Monaco last year and was a fan favorite for CDM FUT teams. He deserves more than his Watch to Watch card, and fans are hoping he follows in the footsteps of Kamawinga, who received the card last year.
Kalidou Koulibaly – CB / Chelsea
Chelsea have made big money transfers and everyone has to be everyone’s favorite to get Stuff to Watch. First there is Kalidou Koulibaly, transferred from Napoli to the London club. FIFA fans know how popular Koulibaly is in Serie A and hope he continues to play at a high level for Chelsea. Along with Martinez and others, he needs to be a top defender in the promotion.
Raheem Sterling – Striker / Chelsea
Chelsea’s first big step was the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City. We’ve listed him as an attacker for now, since it’s a bit unclear where to place the main gold card. Given Timo Werner’s departure, he played attackingly early in Chelsea’s tenure. Kai Havertz also played as a striker for Thomas Tuchel, although Sterling was always a left or right winger. EA Sports may decide to keep him on the flanks, but he could be a central player unless Chelsea bring in another striker and make the position their own before the release of FIFA 23.
Mark Cucurella – ASF/Chelsea
Chelsea’s latest signing, Mark Cucurella, is on the list like everything else. He was Graham Potter’s Brighton Hove and Albion player to watch at Manchester City last season. Chelsea beat the defending champions and went from strength to strength with Ben Chilwell.
There are more players to consider and we will make a more concise list once the summer transfer window closes. If a player is not mentioned, it does not mean that he will not be included. FIFA 22’s Ones To Watch event was the biggest considering the number of moves last summer. Expect something similar given how this window plays out.
FIFA 23 is released on September 30. Install the Ultimate Team promo tomorrow, August 11.
