A new patent has been approved for EA to potentially improve online connections in certain studio games.

A patent titled “Providing Video Game Content to a Related Online Game” was first filed by EA in 2020. However, this has just been confirmed. According to the patent, the technology relies on machine learning to control the “frequency of video game content delivery requests.”

This means for EA servers that they will be able to monitor requests submitted by players and determine the likelihood of the server complying with requests. EA will essentially be able to monitor real-time server status for games like FIFA or Battlefield by running tests while they’re still in use.

“Machine learning models can improve the quality of delivered video game content by measuring the quality of one or more objective measures of video game player content, ratings, and feedback,” the patent states.
