A Call of Duty player posted a question on Reddit about their discussion of the five and 10 attachments. Titled, “Thoughts on adding 10 guns vs. 5 guns?” Players shared their thoughts on why they missed the old version. Sledgehammer Games has added 10 attachments for each weapon in Gunsmith for Vanguard, giving players more technical control and variety for their favorite weapon.
But as the players explain, it does not necessarily improve.
As someone said, “5 is the highest addition system…and it’s probably easier for developers to balance.” This is an important note because weapon balancing is very important in multiplayer and Warzone, so the easier it is for developers the better.
Some players said they didn’t have to sacrifice anything to get a certain bonus, while others thought it was the genius of the five-link system. You can’t have it all.
“So these 5 are better. You just can’t put together the best weapon. Should you sacrifice yourself? Do you want to be satisfied? Do you need to delete the attachment? You don’t need to see? Can you add anything else? . Maxing just isn’t good.
It looks like this discussion will end in Infinity Ward as we prepare for the next installment of Call of Duty and Warzone. Finding the perfect balance between choice and sacrifice is crucial, and I hope they strike it.
