It’s very different from the original desert theme, but it could be both. Medellin is located in the Andes and has a diverse landscape surrounded by dense forests and mountains. As with any Battle Royale map, you want players to experience different playthroughs. Maybe part of the map will be more desert-like, while the big city will be based on Medellin. It seems that even the city itself, with its tall skyscrapers and weirder buildings and neighborhoods, has big differences.
The next installment of Call of Duty has been leaked to War on Drugs, which focuses on the fight against drug cartels. This will make this place even more likely as a source of inspiration. If Infinity Ward is successful, there will be plenty of places on the map to enjoy, including this amazing town.
