Activision Says Verdansky Will Return to “Select Platforms”

Activision has confirmed that Verdunsky will return to select platforms in Call of Duty (CoD): Warzone.

During a livestream where LegionFarm was taken down, Activision Director of Direct Operations Alex Summers announced that the original Verdun map would be returned to Warzone in late 2023. Although Summers neglected to give a specific timeline, he this is little information. It was more than enough to grab the public’s attention – one deleted the quote below and posted it on Reddit on April 17.

“Verdansky will be back,” Summers said, “but he’ll be back next year. I don’t want to give too much away, but this card will be coming back to select platforms next year.”

But players aren’t sure yet. In a few comments, Summers’ remarks mean that it will be coming back to mobile and/or iOS platforms, not desktop or console. Some have connected it to the mobile hotspot of the game currently in development.

“That probably means it’s only coming to mobile, but that doesn’t stop me from pinning my hopes,” writes indietrxsh.

It looks like Noob_music_producer was ready to go mobile in this situation, writing, “If they add the old Verdunsky stuff and the sizzle gun, I’ll be a full-time mobile gamer.”

As always, there are a few players who prefer the developers to immediately return the old one to replace the new one. After all, Verdunsk has clearly earned a place in the hearts of CoD fans.

“I personally think they should destroy the caldera and retake Verdunsky,” Wild_NK_cell writes.

However, DBLTAP was unable to verify the card’s return date, time or platform at the time of this writing.
