Our Warzone SMG tier list for September 2022 is here to help you figure out which weapons are the best to use, as the new meta is set once again following the release of Raven Software’s latest major balancing update.

Since the first patch of Season 5, Warzone players have surprisingly almost yet to see any nerfs and weapon buffs. However, this does not mean that methane is still not valued. So here’s how SMGs stack up in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 in September 2022.

Tier S has eight SMGs that will continue to be the elite in Season 5. Ultimately, the only “broken” option for now will likely be the Vanguard PPSh-41. Despite receiving major nerfs to start the new season, the Armaguerra 43, H4 Blixen, and Marco 5 remained solid options all told. Meanwhile, the Type 100, RA 225, Sten, and MP-40 still result in high K/D ratios for those who use them, so feel free to stick with that.

A good sign at this point is that there are 19 SMGs that are still quite suitable and generally very balanced for use in Warzone. Essentially, these options sit outside of the main meta, but can still get the job done and keep you competitive. For those who have been waiting a long time for the P90 to be good, now is the time.

There are a few SMGs that remain intact at B rank but could still use a few buffs to get more players to seriously consider using them. These options have proven themselves, but in the era of the Pacific there will be nothing to write home about as a war zone.

Whether it’s a melee or sniper support option, C-tier SMGs stay in the pack for a long time and aren’t going to make their way into the meta anytime soon. Unfortunately, unlike the P90, the Striker 45 is still not worth equipping.
