Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has detailed plans to bring Call of Duty to Xbox Game Pass along with other Activision Blizzard features.
Spencer revealed the plans in a new blog post on Microsoft’s website, which shows games like Overwatch, Diablo and Call of Duty making their way to Xbox Game Pass following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. “Game Pass enables developers to bring more games to more players, not fewer. We will launch Activision Blizzard’s library of beloved games, including Overwatch, Diablo and Call of Duty, on Game Pass and expand these gaming communities.” Spencer. aforementioned.

“We hope to continue to develop Game Pass and extend its appeal to mobile and all connected devices by providing even more value to gamers.”
Despite the planned move, Post reaffirmed that Call of Duty will continue to be available on PlayStation. “As we’ve said before, we’re committed to making the same version of Call of Duty available on PlayStation the day the game is released elsewhere.”
The blog post follows news that the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has requested a more “thorough” investigation into Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The AMC said it was concerned the acquisition could “significantly lessen competition in game consoles, multi-game subscription services and cloud gaming services.”
Although Spencer’s blog post does not directly name the CMA, he responded to the statement by saying, “We will continue to work in the spirit of transparency and openness as regulators review this acquisition.” We respect and welcome the tough questions asked.
We believe a thorough review shows that the combination of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard will benefit the industry and gamers.
