Fans accuse Activision of “dishonest” tactics in new Snoop Dogg Call of Duty: Mobile cosmetic.
The presence of Snoop Dogg in the Call of Duty series has generated a wave of enthusiasm from fans. Available as part of the Warzone, Vanguard and Mobile bundle, fans wanted to capture the rap legend and throw them onto the virtual battlefield.
However, Call of Duty: Mobile fans quickly discovered that the package they offered was different from Vanguard and Warzone players. Not only is the Operator’s skin completely different, but there is a way to capture it. In addition to seemingly less content, the mobile kit can cost players four times more than Warzone and Vanguard.
In Vanguard and Warzone, players can purchase a single Snoop Dogg Operator Pack containing 10 items for three special Vanguards and a 20-tier progression track that includes alternate costumes and other cosmetics.
But Call of Duty: Mobile fans aren’t so happy. There appears to be no cosmetic assortment available for hand players, only the skin and arms blueprint. Players also don’t have the option to make a one-time purchase for the bundle. Instead, players have to use the Lucky Draw system, hoping they’ll land on Snoop Dogg.
Not only does this reduce the chances of the bundle being lucky, but it also puts players at risk of spending more money in the long run just to get their cosmetics.
Understandably, fans aren’t taking it well, with many taking to Reddit to express their disappointment. One user said: “This is a clear picture of the future of kodam collars. Either we don’t accept content at all or we write a crazy price tag. It happened in Saw and it’s happening now.
Snoop Dogg Lucky Draw will be available for mobile gamers starting April 1, though it’s not yet clear if Activision will make any changes to the offering based on feedback.
