Our lineup of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 Assault Rifles is here to determine which guns will be put to best use in Caldera, Fortune’s Keep, and Rebirth Island with the release of Raven Software’s latest major balancing update.
With the Season 5 patch, we not only got a brand new RA 225 SMG, but we also made some big changes to weapon class options. So here’s a breakdown of how SMGs stack up in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5.

Layers
Tier S has 10 SMGs that are expected to remain elite in Season 5. Ultimately, after holding the undisputed lead for some time, Marco 5, Armaguerra 43, and H4 Blixen might now see their presence in the Tier S slot. progress. That each takes heavy nerfs to damage multipliers and push back. After a minor change, the Vanguard PPSh-41 raises the appeal to the S level. For now, brand new RA 225 mounts are also here, matching the latest Vanguard SMG with the full package. Meanwhile, the MP-40, Type 100, Sten, Black Ops Cold War MP5, and Welgun still result in high K/D ratios for those who use them, so feel free to move on.
Arrange
In Tier A, there are 15 SMGs that still remain very viable and generally very balanced for use in Warzone. Essentially, these options sit outside of the main meta, but can still get the job done and keep you competitive. UGR, Fennec and M1912 each had fun, but for the most part they should keep playing around the game.
B-level
There are a few SMGs that remain intact at B rank but could still use a few buffs to get more players to seriously consider using them. These options have proven themselves, but there will be nothing to write home about a warzone in the Pacific era. Hoping that their new fans will at least keep them afloat, the P90 and Striker 45 have been updated for the first time in a long time.
layer C
Whether it’s a melee or sniper support option, C-rank SMGs stay in the pack for a long time and are nowhere near taking their place in the meta.
