As Activision explained in a recent developer blog post, Raven Software “continues to use the audience to make changes to the audience and the game in general.”
Here are the main changes players should be aware of when playing Caldera in Season 4:
Less water and leaves
Starting from the topography, as promised, the caldera is clearing and the rivers are drying up.
So expect to see open areas in many parts of the island, partly because small camps are set up on the trail outside the resort.
Additional paths will be opened in several buildings in the capital, including steps near the pier and the gondola station, to allow more options for getting around the island.
Here is the full list of major POI changes for Season 4:
The warehouse town is back
Next, the original and fan-favorite POI storage town of Verdunsky will be added to the western part of the caldera map, between the mines, airports, village and dig sites.
Storage Town is said to be “just as veterans remember it,” with a number of warehouses filled with contracts and spawn items, as well as several warehouses that allow players to easily explore the area .
basements for rent
The seven main caldera bunkers are now controlled by mercenaries. Essentially, they work like Verdunski’s bunkers, except players need a keycard rather than pre-agreed codes to access them.
Keycards are rare drops that can be obtained from supply boxes, contracts, or other players who find them during a mission. The keycard is bound to the player who receives it and can only be used once in one of the seven bunkers.
After use, mercenary chests will be opened to reveal valuable loot: gold, weapons, equipment, and more. However, players are advised to run fast as other detachments may have attempted to ambush and take the loot themselves.
Armored jeep added
Finally, the new armored SUV can be used to explore all new areas of the caldera with a significant number of defensive functions.
The new car features a rooftop tower seat, room for players to wield their own weapons, and a Nitro Boost that provides instant boost for a limited time.
