Activision and Infinity Ward have announced the next Open Beta game, in addition to releasing the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II World Reveal trailer and pre-order.
As with most betas, this will be a full-scale test where players can get hands-on experience with pre-release multiplayer gameplay, including maps, mods, weapons, and more.
For those who want to take the test, here’s everything you need to know about the Modern Warfare 2 open beta.

While the Modern Warfare 2 open beta has been announced, exact dates and details will be announced in the coming weeks.
But until then, players can hold their positions when the time comes.
No matter which edition or platform of Modern Warfare 2 you pre-order, every digital and physical pre-purchase of the game includes early access to the Open Beta game.
MW2 is now available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | It can be pre-ordered on S and PC (via Battle.net or Steam).
As leaked a few weeks ago, similar to previous CODs, Modern Warfare 2 has three versions up for pre-order, and current-gen and next-gen versions of the console game.
For those who pre-order the game digitally from PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Battle.net or Steam, your account will automatically be registered for early access to the open beta. You will be able to download it from the start of the early access period.
For those pre-ordering the physical version of the game from participating retailers, you will need to redeem the early access beta code at game time. In most cases, the code is printed on a retail receipt or mailed to you by email via an online receipt. If you do not receive or find the Early Access Beta Code, please contact your reseller. The 13-character early access beta code will be available at callofduty.com/betaredeem.
Finally, it will be interesting to see if the open beta of MW2 will make the first discs available for players on PlayStation 4 and PS5.
