Call of Duty: Warzone players consider the Serpentine to be “too powerful” and are calling for tension over the new added perk.
A common request that has been circulating in the Warzone community for some time is to shake up existing perks with many considerations that offers can be made through an overhaul. Kick off Season 3 with the addition of the popular Vanguard Perk – Serpentine.
The perk works almost as well in Warzone as it does in Pioneers, reducing bullet, explosive, and fire damage by 20%. While not quite a meta master, this perk has proven to be a little dangerous in the hands of some players.
Naturally, fans have flocked to Reddit to discuss how this bonus has impacted recent Warzone matches.
User bwash407 asked the Warzone community why there is a Serpentine perk in Warzone. “Based on the count, that doesn’t sound like a lot, but in practice, it’s absolutely ridiculous,” the user said.
“Not everyone hits every shot perfectly, and we shouldn’t take a half when they’re running. It takes a lot of bullets to fire just one, which makes it very difficult to hit a few players.
The Serpentine lineup itself looks like a nice little safety net, but with Stim Shots and increased health, players suddenly become a one-man team. “I’m averaging about 1,200 kills per kill, up from about 450 before,” the client said.
There’s been a lot of chatter about serpentine, with other players saying it’s gotten a lot harder to get the killers.
“Serpentine is really powerful in the hands of good players, especially with steam,” said user reduce_harm.
Of course, not all players think the Serpentine is so important. Since powerups only affect base health, powerups usually land the few hits it takes to take out a player. “Serpentine looks a bit steep but I don’t hate it, don’t think it’s a downfall of the game,” one commenter said.
For now, however, the Serpentine should remain in its current form. It remains to be seen if Raven Software has any future adjustment plans.
