Drew McCourt, owner of the French football team Olympique de Marseille and son of Frank McCourt, founder of DM-Esports and c0ntact Gaming, owns Paris Eternal and Paris Legion.
Since the creation of Paris Eternal in September 2018 and the launch of the Paris Legion in May 2019, both teams have remained in the bottom half of their respective league positions every year.
In 2020, it was said that both franchisees were unwilling to pay/offer a higher salary, which led to a lot of dialogue on both sides.

At press time, the Paris Legion is last in the CDL standings with a Major 3 record of 2-16. In the Overwatch League West region, Paris Eternal finished last with the Vancouver Titans 0-6. .
According to Trademarkia.com, all c0ntact in-game trademarks for the Paris Legion have been discontinued since 2021, while DM-Esports’ trademarks on the Paris Eternals name and logo remain active.
Finally, it will be interesting to see if the Eternal and Legion ships move to Las Vegas and join the Riders, Gold Knights, and Aces in bringing their own series of entertainment to Sin City.
